The Ultimate Destination for Women’s Wilderness Tours in Colorado.
Femme Trek offers safe and accessible year-round guided tours for women including hiking tours, snowshoeing tours, and women’s wilderness survival education tours and events.
Our year-round tours are designed by women, for women, which means we get it—we know exactly what you need on the trail (like that extra snack, comfy gear, that rest break, and the occasional bathroom break).
We can’t wait to show you the magic of Rocky Mountain National Park—trust us, it’s going to be epic!
All tours depart from Estes Park, Colorado, unless otherwise stated.
Ladies, enjoy 50% off our winter hiking tour to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Good for tour dates through December 31, 2024. Holidays included!
We’re offering this to help more women fall in love with the colder months! November and December are what we call ‘shoulder season’—that magical time when it’s cold enough to make you feel like you’re in a winter wonderland but not quite enough snow to bust out the snowshoes. It’s the perfect opportunity to practice layering up and embracing the chill—because, let’s face it, we all know winter's coming, whether we’re ready for it or not
The hike to Emerald Lake is a moderate 3.5 miles roundtrip—so just enough to make you feel accomplished, but not so much that you’ll be Googling ‘How to survive a winter hike’ halfway through. It’s one of the most stunning spots in the Rockies, so you’ll definitely be distracted by the views (and maybe catch your breath along the way). A moderate level of fitness is required, but don’t worry—this isn’t ‘climb Everest’ kind of tough, more like ‘take your time and enjoy the scenery’.

Femme Trek FAQS
1) Do I need hiking experience to hike with Femme Trek? Nope! No hiking experience required. Our clients have had a broad range of experience from absolute beginner to very experienced. The hike you book will depend on your fitness level and interest.
2) What gear do I need to hike with Femme Trek? You’ll need to bring a backpack and wear sturdy hiking boots. Some clients have used their computer bags and book bags which work surprisingly well. In the summer, trail runners with tread are acceptable, but in the winter for snowshoeing, sturdy waterproof hiking boots are required. We’ll send you an email several days before the hike with more information on what to bring the day of.
3) How many people can hike with Femme Trek at a time? It depends on the trail you choose. If we’re going to a lake, then the maximum group size is 12. For other hikes on established trails the maximum group size is 20.
4) What happens if the weather is bad? We’ll suggest an alternate hike and/or see if you’re available a different day. If neither of those will work, we’ll cancel the hike and issue a refund, minus a $25 administrative fee.
5) I’ve never been snowshoeing before. Will you teach me? Definitely! Most of our clients have never been snowshoeing. It’s so much fun! Femme Trek provides the necessary equipment like snowshoes and trekking poles and we’ll show you how to use it. If you’re experienced, we’ll still provide the equipment and off we go!
6) Is Rocky Mountain National Park worth visiting in the winter? Most definitely yes! The scenery is a different kind of amazing in the winter. Also, hotels in Estes Park are much less expensive than in the summer and there are fewer crowds.
